Are your Words fostering Life or Death?
The words that we speak, are they life or death?
Do they give us hope or discouragement? Since we are held responsible for every word we speak, I think we had better listen very carefully to what we are saying, not just to our brethren, but also to ourselves.
Notice what Jesus said: "But I tell you that everyone will have to give account on the day of judgment for every empty word they have spoken. For by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned.” Matthew 12:36-37
In a similar way we should be careful about how we pray. Do we pray for life or death, do we pray for HIS will to be done or do we petition for change according to our will?
Jesus said we should pray like this, "This, then, is how you should pray: ‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.'" Matthew 6:9-10
First acknowledging God's sovereignty, then desiring for and asking for His will to be done, this is a petition to see and submit to God's will...never our own.
So, this is a plea to everyone that I know, love, and walk life with.
✔Let's check our words, watch the conversations we have, and consider our prayers. Let's line up with the will of our Father. When we talk about our marriages, churches, relationships and struggles we must speak life into those places. Similarly, when we pray for them let's not pray our ideas of resolution, but truly for God's will to be done...even if that means *we* change.
May these words of my mouth and this meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, Lord , my Rock and my Redeemer.
Psalm 19:14
God bless you all.
