The words that we speak, are they life or death? Do they give us hope or discouragement? Since we are held responsible for every word we speak, I think we had better listen very carefully to what we are saying, not just to our brethren, but also to ourselves. Notice what Jesus said: "But I tell you that everyone will have to give account on the day of judgment for every empty word they have spoken. For by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condem ned.” Matthew 12:36-37 In a similar way we should be careful about how we pray. Do we pray for life or death, do we pray for HIS will to be done or do we petition for change according to our will?
